BAIBS Thursday 05/09/13

Found out yesterday (thank you Nicole) that the word blog stems from web log. Who'd have thought? Personally though I'd have gone with eblo. Blog just sounds like something nasty you cant get out of the plug hole.

My quiet night in failed abysmally last night. First my mate Steve Holmes decided that yesterday was a good day to go for beers. The fact that I've not seen him in a year as he single handedly sorted out Gibraltar is irrelevant.

And then my boss, Paul, and I decided to check out the first heat of man vs pie at the Yorkshire Pie House. Host Andy Milner seemed to be the only one close to polishing off 2.4kg of the best steak and potato pie you will ever taste. Has to be said he didn't look well at all though. Actually none of the 7 contestants did. Andy managed 2161g, a good 670g ahead of his nearest rival. Despite all this me and Paul are going for it and both quietly confident. As Paul said, 'There were no big units there.' Goes without saying we are big units.

The pile of new music is piling up again. Went through a load yesterday but the cd pile seems to be getting bigger and as I speak one company in particular are filling my inbox with tunage. Here's a tip for any band sending me music. I get that much sent it's virtually impossible to listen to it all so if a song hasn't grabbed me in 30 seconds then I'm unlikely to listen to the rest. Get working on those intros guys.

Had a brief spell in the sun this morning having coffee and admiring a couple of splendid strawberry tarts. I realise how that comes across but it's out there now.

Right the emails are coming in thick and fast. Not only new music but also a young lady in Russia has personally picked me as her chosen one.
